Music at St. Paul's
Now is a great time to join the Choir! Choir rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 7 – 9 pm. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact our music director, Jay Lindsay. Hope to see you there!
St. Paul’s Choir is a multi-generational ensemble whose mission is to lead worship in the singing of hymns, psalms, anthems, and liturgical music. The choir sings every Sunday during the program year at the 9:30 service and at special liturgies throughout the year. We sing a broad range of repertoire, from Renaissance motets to works by contemporary composers. The core of our ensemble is comprised of volunteers, supplemented by a professional cantor and soprano section leader. The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings during the program year from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. New members are always welcome; an ability to read music and prior choral experience is helpful but not required.
St. Paul’s Choristers is currently on hiatus, but we hope to resume rehearsals in the near future. The group is open to any child in grades 1-9 who would like to sing. Choristers learn vocal technique, music reading, spiritual formation, and how to be leaders in the liturgy through the Royal School of Church Music’s Voice for Life curriculum. We sing at the 9:30 Sunday service approximately once a month. We welcome any child who loves to sing.
Instrumentalists are encouraged to share their gifts with the congregation through special music selections. Please contact the Music Director to discuss ways to get involved. There are also opportunities for handbell ringing.
For more information about the choirs please contact Jay Lindsay, St. Paul's Director of Music.
