Church School Happenings
Please join us for Church School this fall! Children of all ages are welcome, and a nursery is available for the littlest ones. Below you can read about some of what Church School has to offer. For more about our calendar and upcoming events, check the St. Paul's newsletter, visit our Facebook page, or email Nathan Leach, Director of Christian Education and Formation.
Sunday School
Sunday School meets most Sundays at 9:30. Drawing on Godly Play, our curriculum focuses on helping kids make biblical stories their own, guiding them towards a deeper awareness of God's presence in their lives. Through creative storytelling and hands-on learning, we provide, a safe, sacred, and playful environment for children to learn about God.
Story Walks
One Sunday a month we meet at 8:30 am at Marcus Cooke Park, where one of our Church School teachers leads kids and families on a biblical story walk through the woods. These interactive experiences help the stories come alive, and give St. Paul's children a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
Bells for Beginners
One Sunday a month, at 9:10, before regularly scheduled Church School, all children are invited to our Bells for Beginners handbell choir. At this brief rehearsal, they will learn a simple handbell song that they will perform in worship that morning. No musical experience is necessary!
Children in Worship
At St. Paul's, we are committed to involving children as active participants in worship. In addition to planning and leading an entire service during Advent, the children have an opportunity once a month to be part of worship as readers, acolytes, or in other leadership roles.
