The Way of Love: Following Jesus & Changing the World – This week’s word is: LEARN. In today’s lesson from Acts, the Ethiopian eunuch was open to LEARN from Philip as Philip guided him through the Isaiah scripture reading. They were strangers. The eunuch’s questions revealed his openness to LEARN and ultimately to ask to be baptized by Philip. They must have each LEARNED from their encounter. How will you open yourself to LEARN something new this week, especially from one you meet for the first time?

Worship Leaders – Calling all readers, crucifers, ministers of communion! Sign up sheets are available on the easel in the back of the church.
Communion - We return to gathering around the altar rail to receive Communion, either kneeling or standing. We recognize that for some people maintaining some distance from others is important, so we will keep the center area (where there are no kneelers) open for those who prefer this. The ushers will continue to guide you forward at the appropriate time.
Nametags – The Vestry recently voted to use some of the New Initiatives money in our annual budget to purchase lanyards and name tags. We feel this will enable us to get to know each other better, especially those who are newer to the parish. We will be providing a way to neatly keep all the lanyards at church so you won’t risk forgetting it at home on any given Sunday. For the next few weeks there will be a sign-up list at each entrance for you to write down the name you would like us to print on your name tag.
Springtime Coffee Hour – A wonderful time to fellowship with your St. Paul’s family! Please consider hosting a coffee hour this spring. You don’t need to be a baker -- the grocery stores have delicious goodies that you can set on the table. If you need help, please see Sharon Rogalski. A signup sheet has been posted on the easel in the back of the church with available dates through June.
Food/Diaper Drive - At our April drive-thru, we collected 344 lbs of food and $115 in cash donations for Master’s Manna and $100 for diapers. Thank you to everyone who donated. Once again, the people at Master’s Manna told us that they are so happy to have St. Paul’s donate so much every month. They also told us that they are now feeding about 450 families a week. Our next food/diaper drive will be on Saturday May 11th. If you cannot come to the drive on that Saturday, you can always leave donations at the church by the office on Sundays or during the week on Wednesdays and Fridays between 11:00 and 2:00. Please keep an eye open for fantastic sales at the grocery store, and we’ll see you in the parking lot on May 11th.
ECCT Pilgrimage to the National Museum of African American History and Culture - May 4-5 - ECCT's Racial Healing, Justice, and Reconciliation Ministry Network had planned to sponsor again this pilgrimage to Washington, D.C. Sadly the trip has just been cancelled for this Spring. Please watch the ECCT eNews for a more local alternative on May 4th, news for which will be forthcoming.
Altar Flowers for Sundays - A nice way to remember a loved one is to place a springtime bouquet of flowers on the altar, and then be able to take the bouquet home to enjoy during the week. Dates are available for flowers on the altar for Sundays. If you would like to reserve a Sunday, please submit the names of those to be remembered and the date of the Sunday on which you wish the flowers to be on the altar. A $45.00 contribution for each date is suggested. Forms are on the tables at the side and front entrances. Checks for the memorials should be made payable to “St. Paul’s Memorial Flower Fund” and submitted to the church office along with the form. If you have any questions, please contact Sharon Rogalski.
Prayer for the people of Ukraine - God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Amen.
