Kindergarten Child Care Program

St. Paul’s After School Kindergarten Program will follow the Wallingford School systems schedule. Bus  transportation to St. Paul’s can be provided if needed.

Lunch Time:

Children will bring a lunch from home.  Time will be provided for a relaxing lunch with a chance for the children to socialize.

Outdoors:

Weather permitting, the children will have a chance to run and play in our fenced in playground, which has climbing equipment and a sand box.  When weather does not permit, we will provide indoor large motor equipment.  This includes a balance beam, indoor climber, large blocks, and ride on toys. 

Circle time:

St. Paul’s Kindergarten Child Care circle time will include music and stories. Our music program includes songs, games, rhythm instruments, records, CD’s, and tapes.  Stories include age appropriate books. Children may be invited to participate with story telling, remembering sequence of events, also discussions on stories read.

Activity time:

Creativity is always encouraged.  The children are given many opportunities to experience different art materials, such as painting, gluing, cutting, drawing, and easel painting.  Paper, crayons, markers, and pencils are always available. 

Snack Time:

A nutritious snack will be provided daily.  Many times the children can help prepare snack, this may include making things such as: home made muffins, cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, vegetables, and dip.

Quiet Activities:

At this time of the day we will provide time for puzzles, books, and manipulatives such as play dough or legos.  This can also be a time for homework or practicing letters and numbers if the child so desires
